COLLABORATION A collaboration between two artists results in a piece of work that highlights both skill sets in one composition. Snyder - In his signature "drip" technique, Snyder dripped paint through a total of 17 hand cut stencils ultimately creating the "Surfing Madonna" image without once touching his brush to the canvas. Patterson - Using glass left over from the original mosaic, Patterson beautifully created an eye catching mosaic around the edges of the entire canvas, subtly hiding his signature under a slightly transparent blue piece. The stages of vector illustration, stencil creation, paint drip and mosaic ran the course of 3 weeks with with many hours each day.
