Hello Summer part 2 of 12
What is a summer without Roger and his crazy antics? As the sun sinks and the shower line grows long, Roger begins his grand finale. Perfectly timed with the last minutes of the day, Roger heckles the crowd with sincerity and rues. His jokes are abundant and laughs trickle in. Roger surveys the crowd with small chats and sarcastic observations. He rambles about his HBO debut and steals tourist’s lighters. With his eye always on the sun, he waits for the exact moment which will result in a flame and bowling ball finale perfectly timed with the day’s exit.
Roger picks a fire chief from Arizona and drags him around the sandy pavement like a sleepy child drags a blanket. Agitated, but a good sport, the chief takes the abuse. Kids laugh and parents chuckle and Roger jumps on top of an over sized green ball. His antics carry him backwards with gasps from the crowd as he approaches the steep hill down to the beach. He elegantly jumps off and returns to center stage. With flames ablaze and twirling in the air, Roger screams for the bowling ball. His tan and tattooed shoulders glisten with sweat and his face grimaces. The chief tosses the ball and Roger smoothly introduces it to his juggle. The crowd reacts with a loud applause as kids beg their parents for dollars. Roger retrieves his hat and enjoys the rest of the sunset.
When summer arrives, where do you seek entertainment?

I can’t tell you how many times I have seen the same act by Rodger (because he won’t change it because it works!) andit works because still I laugh every time and some times I am the only one laughing. I have to admit the first time I saw “The Juggler” I gave him my lighter!
Can’t wait to see what is next, hopefully some good ol’ local lola’s family will be included…
Roger is a drunk and a serious i mean serious drug attic..hes a bum and he pan handles and by the time hes juggling hes a disgrace….he lives on the streets he lies cheats steals and is a total eye sore to the community…as someone who has lived everday of there life in cbad…roger is a grade A kook….and needs to kik roxs…

you should have see n him eat shit the other night becasue he was so drunk he fell off his ball…dove down the cliff….a real class act the kind of guy you want juggling machetes over children after p can of schlitz malt liquor…..
hes about do for his summer ass kicking …it happens every year he pisses someone off they kik his ass and he tries to sue to get money so he can keep being a bum..
hes a tweaking pan hanlder that can juggle…….

Hey “real carlsbd loc” sounds like you’re a total asshole! Do you know Roger personally or did he just get a lighter out of you and now you’re pissed? And how do you know he is a “serious” drug addict? Do you or someone you know sell him the drugs? Sounds to me like you need to spend more time doing something positive for your “local” community rather then hanging out watching Roger and if you have any extra time go back to school and learn to write!
We’ve been visiting Carlsbad for 7 summers. Roger is a welcome part of our vacation “routine.” Like Solie, we can’t help but laugh at the same jokes year after year (he’s actually got a few new ones this year!) The kids beg to see his show each summer. They’re definitely not as critical of his routine as the grown ups. Think about it: do you see clowns the same way as you did as a child?

after the first time rodger sued a real carlsbad loc….and tried to drain every dime out of a hard working family….he was officially cut…
if you really think im full of it …thats fine you are all tourists anyway youve probably been around only a few years and have no clue what kind of town this really is…
as far as me needing to do something positive for my community your right….
i think i will pursue getting the juggler out of carlsbad…
for those of you who think im an asshole thats fine……. i though the same thing about rodger when i saw him beat up a 16 year old kid….and then sue the kid when his big brother showed up and delt with rodger…….
if hes such a good guy and you like him so much ,,,give him a job and let him stay at your house…instead of sleeping in a broke down car on caost highway..
someone said how do i know hes a dope head….lol..lol…lol….thats seriously funny//…
but it was cool that when we were under age he was one of the bums that would get us booze…as long as we let him get some…u know cause hes a bum and pan handling slows down when its not summer….
in conclusion ,,ask yourself this …he panhandles every night..and makes some decent cash in summer…..but never has new clothes no new equipment…his car has been broken down for a decade..the only thing he has to show for it is a beer buzz …anfd all his teeth are falling out because??? he doesnt do dope?
and if your still not convinced you can see him pretty much all day every day drinking beer with the other homeless guys in the grass at off shore…
what a great role model for the kids around here…….
whats funny is that i hate to be so negative and slam somebody but if you knew what i knew about this guy youd feel the same way…
and to” solie” yeah i know rodger pesonally and have for over 15 years…..
hes getting sloppier and i know its just a matter of time before it becomes painfully obvious….
ask him about his fall the other night….when he blacked out on his balance ball? after a 2 day binge in the sun……
and hey solie i sound like an asshole you sound like a “newbie ” a transplant like every other kook who moved to carlsbad in the last few years …….your just super local now ..you have it all figured out…….
and as far as the kids are concerned ….for a kid it must be the coolest and if i was a kid again i woud love it…
its just a shame that the kids look up to him …..and hes so intoxicated and just a terrible role model….
wait till you see him get drunk and put him and his daughter in a radio flyer wagon and bomb the hill to the beach.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! after god knows how many beers…just a matter of time ……
Why don’t you just let these people enjoy it. You might hate him, you might have great reasons to but these parents aren’t inviting him over to babysit there kids. He’s a street performer…. of coarse he does drugs and drinks booze! He doesn’t look like an angel!
You can hate whoever you want but let everyone else enjoy his performances. I don’t think smoking crack or whatever he is doing is right but thats his choice and thats life, deal with it.
…and leave Solie alone! She is way more of a local than anyone that has to make that there commenting name! The real loc…what a nice front. You aren’t very confident are you.
