Where most people have gone abstract, Candice George has remained loyal to the hand of an artist with experience and skill in the traditional art of Representational charcoal and oil paints.

Let’s here what you think!
Your drawings are absolutely amazing!!!
Amazing! That’s definitely something I aspire to do. My favorite piece is the one of Amanda…PHENOMENAL! Her work looks like it really takes some time and vigorous attention to detail, something I need to work on! Thanks for the inspiration Candace!
The man in the yellow wing chair is quite good.
I can’t belive as an artist you would even think of writing someone elses work as yours!! The last picture in the series of the man in the green chair is a ” Wyeth “. Bad form, give credit where credit is due. You only wish you had the talent of James or Adrew Wyeth. As an artist I would be pissed!!!!!
Hi Ray,
My name is Candice George I am the artist that you are talking about. First I want to point out that my interviewer did not include titles on any of my pieces. I never tried to take credit for Andrew Wyeth’s work. This is a “master copy” (yes people do it and it is allowed) it is a watercolor master copy that I did in a watercolor 1 class. The piece was displayed in a show two years ago, as an Andrew Wyeth copy, at my school. The show is just for the students at my school (LCAD) to display their best work from the previous year. I won best in show for the junior class and I sold the piece. This was one of the first pieces that I sold as an artist. Carlsbadcrawl chose which images to be used for the article I didn’t see any reason to not allow it to use this one. Purhaps I should have had him include tiles, the title for this piece is ” After Andrew Wyeth, Portrait of Shorty” which does not lead the viewer on. Thank you for your concern about my artistic honesty. I can assure you and anyone else viewing my work that I have respect for my craft and for all of those who have practiced it before me.
Hey Ray,
I don’t know if you noticed, but Candice is a “featured artist” on the “Carlsbad Crawl” website. This is not a “Candice George website,” so, since you are so darn good at assumption, you should “assume” that Candice did not post her paintings on the site herself. So,…before you start labelling someone a “plagerist,” you may want to get your facts strait, before “assuming.” Because everyone knows what “Assume” really means. (ASS-U-ME)Get it?
Hey Andrew, Candice did a pretty good job of explaining helself and I am sorry for beeing so quick to accuse. The fucking painting was so close to the original I thought it was his. I apologize Candice I am a huge fan of Andrew & Jamie Wyeth. My style of art is very similar, trying to capture the realistic side. Not trying to write of abstract emo art as a lack for no talant and training. Once again I apologize “Candice” for the misunderstanding. Keep it up and don’t stop!!!!!
Ray,
Don’t worry about it, I just wanted to get everything cleared up. Thankyou for the apology and the compliment, and thankyou to everyone that has commented on the site. Have a beautiful Day.
