the beginning…

early-splatters.jpg

IMG_5521Each weekend morning started the same. As the day wiped its sleepy eyes and my neighbors brewed coffee, I dragged my stencils into place and begun an onslaught of splatters. The hours blew through my complex like a wandering leaf down an empty village street. The early Spring air numbed my ears as I watched the composition begin to take shape. Each painting was an experimentation, a doodle on the back of a receipt or a search for a muse in the pages of a dusty magazine. Neighbors would approach with curiosity and I would explain my most recent attempt to hone a new skill. The hours of the day were counted by the growth of dripping paint cans and the thickening layers of wet paint on my jeans.

A journey began, grew and now concludes in a gift to for our community. See the result after seven months of creating…

I miss those days, sitting on the patio watching you paint, drinking my coffee, serving you a warm plate of breakfast that you could munch between stencil layers, friends honking as they drive by and guests excited to come see the next of your work.

Thanks for ruining my neighborhood with your unwanted graffiti. Please come and remove your crime from Jefferson Avenue. Ever heard of the “broken window” theory? Your “art” attracts other vermin to come in and ruin the rest of the neighborhood. Seriously, it ain’t cool. It ain’t “banksy”. It ain’t art.

“It ain’t art” says shit talker Smythe. Obviously Smythe is very close minded. The fact that Snyder’s art has made him react this way provides successful proof that it is art, it evoked Smythe’s jackass opinion and he actually devoted precious time to speak it. Good job Snyder keep up the GREAT artwork!

Graffiti is not art. It is violence and it is a crime. The abandoned house that was violated is an eyesore it itself. The owner needs to take care of it. Now it is worsened by a senseless billboard. Why not go spray paint you garbage on the Alt Karlsbad building and see how the town reacts?

Oh, and bee honey, you sound like some airheaded groupie. Some day you may own something of value and have some civic pride. Maybe.

Why not move to Oceanside or Vista where the graffiti is already rampant? Why ruin Carlsbad?

So Shit talker Smythe has a come back, even more of his precious time wasted. “Airheaded groupie” you have me mistaken. Why must you continue to waste your time here on Carlsbad Crawl when you obviously hate what they represent. You need to open your eyes and your mind to realize that this is art, their not hurting anybody, they are making the publics eyes work. You can’t expect people to like all art but if it makes you think and if it makes an impression, any impression then the job is done. You have made this website and the street art very successful. It is wonderful to get someone so worked up! You are so caught up in this yet you are so against it. You’re such a sucker!

Ever heard of the “rebellious teenager” theory? Tell a teenager no and they’ll rebel twice as much.

Ever heard of the “Bob Smythe” Theory? Complaining about graffiti while writing his own graffiti on carlsbacrawl.com. Your opinions aren’t factual, they are just opinions.
