A Party Wavestorm at Tamarack Beach, Carlsbad

Carlsbad surf tamarack

On Tuesday, July 25, a frenzy of soft-top surfboards and salty groms crashed upon the evening lit beach organized by Wavestorm‘s social media meetup.

WOW, July 25th was my birthday and I have spent or have at least stopped by the “Rack” Tamarack beach for 45 years on my birthday and I have never seen so many people checking out a swell. We did have a few huge crowds back in the 70s when we would have an extreme high tied with a strong south swell that would create a wave you could ride back out after it bounced off the sand where a cliff would become bigger with each wave, but nothing like this. Makes me feel a little better now that I “know” that this was a social media organized crowd and not the norm, btw great photos BS.

July 25th was on a Wed, the fourth and 25th of July always fall on the same day, they both were on Wed this year, they both were on Tuesday last year.
