1. It’s Official: FAKESY in Oceanside (link)
Bull Taco in Oceanside claimed that the mysterious piece of street art that was painted on their wall was done by the world famous street artist Banksy. After Bull Taco employees were quoted claiming they had documentation proving that Banksy was the artist, people representing Banksy denied its authenticity. Proof later arose that Bull Taco employess painted the piece resulting in not only carlsbadcrawl.com’s #1 2011 post, but also the year’s most unethical marketing stunt.

2. Sanctioned Street Art Rubric: Surfing Madonna (link)
The mysterious mosiaic placed on the wall of an Encinitas underpass by Mark Patterson became of the year’s most covered art pieces with worldwide exposure and praise. After the City of Encinitas determined the piece vandalism, artist Bryan Snyder drafted the ‘Sanctioned Street Art Rubric’.

3. Where Art Meets the Ocean: The Cardiff Kook (link)
Carlsbad Artist Bryan Snyder dressed the Cardiff Kook as Van Gogh which included a sculpted severed ear, a bottle of absinthe, an easel, a painting, multiple paper mache crows, dressing and a pipe.

4. A Letter from the City of Encinitas (link)
Snyder claims responibility of the Cardiff Kook Van Gogh installation and receives a letter from the City of Encinitas requesting Snyder to avoid any future involvement in Cardiff Kook installations.

A burglary was thwarted by the employees of Paradise Pizza in the Carlsbad Village. Media swarmed the small local pizza joint and carlsbadcrawl covered their coverage.

11. HELLO TROUBLE busted at the Carlsbad Faire (link)
Local vintage country band ‘Hello Trouble’ set up a renegade gig off the perimeter of the Carlsbad Street Fair and surprised faire visitors with good ‘ol vintage country… that is, until the plug was pulled by the local CPD.

12. Snyder Art Community Collage: THOM PAIN (link)
Snyder Art implements a community collage project and creative marketing campaign to help promote a play at the New Village Arts Theatre.

13. The Carlsbad Toreador by SNYDER (link)
Bryan Snyder implements another creative street installation animated by heavy offshore winds.
